HOW DO I GET MY BOOK PUBLISHED?
There are three primary ways to get your book published. Traditional publishing typically requires finding an agent to accept your book before you have any chance to be read by a “traditional” traditional publisher—and getting an agent is nearly as difficult as getting in the door of a large traditional publisher. But if your heart is there, go for it!

You can self-publish your book. This is not free as you would be wise to hire, at a minimum, a professional editor and professional cover designer. Then you need to have or acquire some pretty interesting skills to format your book, turn it into an e-book, and properly add your book to Amazon.com or whatever distributor you have in mind. There are many resources to teach you how to do this, but it’s never as easy as it sounds! If you are a Do-It-Yourself person, this may be your path. Be prepared for a school of hard knocks if you are a first-timer!

The third way to publish a book is the service-for-fee route for independent authors. There are many variations of this approach. We’ll share WriteWay’s process. A manuscript is submitted through our author portal using one of the “submit your manuscript links” on this website. The WriteWay acquisition team determines if the manuscript is a fit for the services we offer and for the audiences we serve. If the author and WriteWay mutually decide to work together, the step-by-step process begins with a publishing agreement. Following this, the manuscript enters workflow, beginning with editing and culminating with the release of the book for an official book launch. Notably, WriteWay authors retain full ownership of their rights and receive 100 percent of all earned royalties from their book sales paid to them by the retailers. In the service-for-fee model, independent authors typically are able to exercise more creative control over their books. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PUBLISH?
The answer depends on what you want. WriteWay will customize your package based on you and your manuscript. Our book editing service prices vary with manuscript length and the type of editing requested. Design fees depend on the complexity and length of the manuscript. Is it text only? Does it have a lot of visuals? Is it 30,000 words or a 130,000 word fantasy book? We offer a wide array of services for author needs.
HOW DO I PUBLISH ON A BUDGET?
We believe that affordable book publishing services should be available to everyone. We discuss the goals you have for your book, the services you need to achieve those goals, and only then do we create a custom project package for you. We also are pleased to be able to offer payment plans.
HOW WILL MY BOOK BE PRINTED?
WriteWay uses print-on-demand for printing our softcover and hardcover books. The quality is professional and many trim sizes are available in black and white or full color interiors. Our printing is done in the US. Print-on-demand books are reasonably priced without having the cost and inventory storage issues of an offset print run.
WHAT ARE THE SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS?
Manuscript samples should be submitted to us through one of our user-friendly “Submit your manuscript” links on this website. We prefer to review the first 3 to 5 chapters of your manuscript as well as the table of contents if the book is non-fiction. We are very happy with a Word document, left aligned, in a 12-point font like Arial or Times New Roman, but we can be flexible!
